Building the AI Highway: Opportunities and challenges in data and analytics

CMCE was pleased to host its September 2020 Showcase: Building the AI Highway: Opportunities and challenges in data and analytics. The guest speaker was Mr H.P. Bunaes, Founder of AI Powered Banking. Mr. Bunaes has over 30 years' experience in data and analytics in the banking industry, and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Trinity College.
 
The Showcase covered a range of topics, beginning with Mr. Bunaes's experience in advising banks and fintech companies on the use of AI and machine learning, discussing some of the most common challenges he's seen organisations face. Also discussed were new technologies in this space that management consultants should be aware of and help their clients to understand. 
 
Regulators also featured in the discussion - their views on the use of AI and machine learning, how these are changing, and what concerns they have. This was followed by a discussion focusing on making AI operational, how companies can ensure everything keeps working as expected over time.
 
A lively Q & A concluded the session including questions on parallels to the nuclear energy industry.
